Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
The Ilm Initiative ("we", "us", "our") publishes research and commentary at this website. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the email address you provide. It is used solely to send you newsletter issues and is stored with our email delivery provider. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in every issue.
Anonymous readership analytics. To understand which articles readers find valuable — and to power features like our "Trending Now" section — we record anonymous view counts for published articles (title, category, and a view timestamp). We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, or any other information that identifies you as part of this process. A short-lived browser session marker prevents the same visit from being counted more than once; it is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab.
Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log standard technical information (such as browser type and access times) for security and operational purposes. We do not actively access or use this data for tracking individual visitors.
What we don't do
We do not sell or rent your information to third parties. We do not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts, or cross-site tracking cookies on this site.
Cookies
This site does not use tracking cookies. The only client-side storage we use is a temporary browser session marker (described above) that exists only for the duration of your visit.
Third-party services
Our newsletter is delivered through a third-party email service provider, and our podcast episodes may embed players from Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or YouTube. These providers have their own privacy policies governing any data collected when you interact with their embedded content.
Your choices
You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. If you have questions about your data or would like to request that your subscriber email be removed, contact us athello@ilminitiative.org.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
